Alicia Westphal awarded international fellowship for HF measurement technology

06.02.2026 -

As part of the UIC4UHFMRI project (14T console), Alicia Westphal achieved a special scientific success: The doctoral student at Prof. Lurz's Chair of Integrated Electronic Systems at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg was awarded the ARFTG Roger Pollard Fellowship in Microwave Measurement (Silver Level Award).

The fellowship is awarded internationally and extremely selectively by the Automatic Radio Frequency Techniques Group (ARFTG) to outstanding doctoral students in the field of RF and microwave measurement technology. The selection was made in a highly competitive process with numerous international applications.

Alicia Westphal impressed the selection committee with her research project “Development of a Passive Harmonic Load-Pull System for High-Power RF Amplifiers in Ultra-High-Field MRI Systems,” which emerged directly from her work in the UIC4UHFMRI project. The Silver Level Award is endowed with $5,000 and will be presented in Boston in June.

We'd like to say a big congrats on this award!
